ASTRON – Azoxystrobin 16.7% + Tricyclazole 33.3% SC

ASTRON is a systemic combination fungicide containing Azoxystrobin 16.7% + Tricyclazole 33.3% SC, formulated for fungal disease management in paddy (rice). The combination provides complementary fungicidal action for managing important rice diseases. Government of Odisha recommendations list this formulation for paddy at 1 ml per litre of water with 500 litres of spray solution per hectare, as a foliar spray.

Mode of Action

ASTRON combines two complementary modes of action. Azoxystrobin interferes with fungal mitochondrial respiration and energy production, while Tricyclazole inhibits melanin biosynthesis, an important process involved in fungal infection, particularly rice blast. 

Application & Dose

Application: Foliar spray
Dose: 1 ml per litre of water
Spray volume: 500 litres/ha

This corresponds to approximately 500 ml/ha. Product-specific recommendations for this formulation are also commonly given as approximately 200 ml/acre, so the printed ASTRON label should be followed for the final commercial dose.
